The Labor Institute is largely funded by donor grants, unions paying for educational and health training services, and federal government health and safety grants.
Les Leopold generously donates royalties from his books, Runaway Inequality, Wall Street’s War on Workers, and the Billionaires Have Two Parties, and his newsletter, to the LI.
We have programs to teach trainers in health and safety through the Tony Mazzocchi Center and through a program to promote occupational safety to the tribes of the Pacific Northwest. We teach CWA trainers to run programs in political economy and democracy, and are putting together a program to assist fossil fuel workers in California transition to new jobs as oil refineries and drilling wind down there. We’re also working with the Barry Commoner Center and Queens College in New York to develop and educational and tracking program for workers cutting countertops and unfortunately developing the debilitating lung disease silicosis. You can get details on these programs by clicking here.
The Labor Institute is a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax deductible as the law allows.
